Dr. Charles H. Reid, MA (Oxford), BM, BCh.
Dr. Reid was born in Nottingham, England where his father, also a Medical doctor, had his own Medical Practice.
He attended Repton, a Public School in Derbyshire, and won a Scholarship (The Smith Open Exhibition) to Christ Church, Oxford
University, to study Medicine. During his time at Oxford he also worked in the Nuclear Physics Laboratory.
After qualifying in 1975, he then gained experience and expertise
in various Specialities, including General Medicine; Ear Nose and Throat and Plastic Surgery; Accident and Emergency (at King’s
College Hospital, London), General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery (Sheffield). He also worked for seven years in Orthopaedic
Surgery (Sussex) before completing his General Practice Training (which includes postgraduate Obstetric and Gynaecology
Training) in Hospitals in Eastbourne and in Practice in Inverness, Scotland. He also completed accreditation
and registered as an Osteopath with the British Osteopathic Council and became the only British Registered Osteopath in the
Cayman Islands.
Prior to coming to Cayman in 1999, Dr. Reid was Senior
Partner of his own Medical Practice in Sussex, with 11 staff and a list of 3,000 patients. He opened The Brac Clinic
under the auspices of Cayman's Dr. Steve Tomlinson. Dr. Reid has wide experience and knowledge in all aspects
of General Medical Practice, Family Medicine, including Dive Medicine, and a particular interest and expertise in Neck and
Back Pain, Head Pain (Headaches) and Minor Surgery.
Dr. Reid is married
to Gillian, a pilot, and they have four children who are now adults and living in the UK.
